Students compete for E.A.G.L.E. award

ALBANY, GA -- Literacy and Leadership took center stage at Albany Tech today.

The college held its annual Exceptional Adult Georgians in Literacy Education awards competition today.

Selected students spoke to judges about why they decided to return to school and how they would encourage others to do the same.

"Telling them to go back to school and do it," said student Tereska Mathis. "If you really want to make something of yourself, have a good future for you and your kids, you will do it."

The winning student will represent Albany Tech at a leadership conference in Atlanta in February.
