LEESBURG, GA -- A hometown hero is headed back to Lee County to take part in the 22nd Annual Spirit of Christmas Parade. San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey will be acting as Grand Marshall in this year’s festivities.
Cassie Barkley is with the Lee County Chamber of Commerce. She says the town is happy to get Posey back in Southwest Georgia. “We're proud to have him as our hometown representative. It's just exciting to have him do so well and we want to honor him by having him in our parade,” says Barkley.
Barkley says they are expecting a larger crowd this year because of Posey’s appearance. Organizers say there will be no autograph or photo session.
