Senior citizens receive hot meals, friendship

ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Police Department is doing its part to spread holiday cheer.

Today, officers with the APD Americorps program served an early Thanksgiving feast to neighborhoods of the Albany Housing Authority.

Senior citizens enjoyed a hot meal with friendly service.

"Older people may feel left out," said Anna Sanders of the Albany PD Americorps program. "Their children have moved on. The people they know and love may not be here anymore. We don’t want them to feel forgotten about."

The officers also stuck around for a few rounds of Bingo.
