A Georgia man receives the death sentence in the torture and killing of a 16-year-old boy he thought stole money from him, reported the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

ATLANTA -- Prosecutor Donnie Myers said 32-year-old Steven Barnes beat Samuel Sturrup with a pipe after kidnapping him from Augusta in September 2001, stuffed him in a trunk, and drove him to South Carolina.

According to police reports, Barnes forced Sturrup into the woods, where he ordered four other people to shoot the teen once before Barnes killed him with a shot to the head.
