Albany City Commissioners pass the Saggy Pants Ordinance 5-2

ALBANY, GA -- The Saggy Pants Ordinance passed 5-2 at Tuesday’s City Commission meeting. Commissioners have been debating the proposed amendment for weeks.

Some of the government officials say saggy pants are a “contagious fad” and those who wear them are “disgraceful.” Other commissioners have ideas they feel would be better than an ordinance that would not overwhelm already busy police.

“I’m supporting my alternative policy which is to ask businesses to adopt a No Saggy Pants just as they have a No Shoes No Shirt No Service policy,” says City Commissioner for Ward IV Roger Marietta.

Commissioners Chris Pike and Marietta voted against the ordinance.
