Y to hold Friday workouts to help shed calories

ALBANY, GA -- A little indulgence this Thanksgiving doesn’t have to equal a lot of expansion in your waistline.

Health experts at the Albany Area YMCA say there are simple steps you can take to avoid those extra holiday pounds.

"Getting out and going walking for 30 to 40 minutes or taking your family members and turning on a Wii activity station and getting active for 30 to 40 minutes keeps you in the mindset," said Mary Ganzel with the Albany Area YMCA.

The Y will be holding special workouts on Friday to help shed any unwanted calories.

The average American gains seven pounds during the holidays.
