Albany has ranked 56th on the new list of America’s most dangerous cities
ALBANY, GA -- Albany has ranked 56th on the new list of America’s most dangerous cities.
The rankings were put to together by research firm CQ Press and looked at violent crimes in the cities with more than 75,000 people.
Saint Louis was named America’s most dangerous city, followed by Camden, New Jersey and Detroit Michigan. Colonies, New York was named the safest city.
City officials aren't putting too much weight on the rankings.
“Circumstances in Albany have gotten better every year in the last five years, especially since we put the gang unit in, and presently our law enforcement are working much harder than they ever did,” said city manager Al Lott.
Aside from Albany seven other Georgia cities were on the list.
