The Salvation Army kicked off their Red Kettle Campaign to raise money community programs
ALBANY, GA. -- The metro Albany area will have 14 red kettle locations open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
The Salvation Army raised $65,000 last year and is aiming to raise $80,000 to support food give-a-ways, and programs that support children, adult recovery, and the new day center for Albany's homeless this year.
Captain Doug McClure says he encounters a lot of people who would like to donate, but don't carry cash. “We have an online virtual red kettle so now there are no excuses not to give to the Salvation Army. You can volunteer to ring the bell and accept donations, you can donate in person, or you can donate online” says McClure.
The local area is in need of volunteers to help man the red kettle locations. Individuals and groups interested in participating should call the Salvation Army at 229-435-1428.

You can also sign up to run an online kettle bell. Through the virtual kettle bell program you can direct monetary donations to the Albany, Georgia Salvation Army and then email your friends and co-workers a link to donate online to raise funds.
