MOULTRIE, GA -- Police arrest a Moultrie man for reportedly hitting a woman on the head with a stick during what the alleged victim calls, “an attempted rape.”
49-year-old Arthur Horne is charged with aggravated assault, battery, and two counts of cruelty to children.
Police were called to a house on Second Avenue about an alleged assault on Wednesday. The woman living there told investigators that she was in bed when she felt someone over her, possibly trying to rape her.
The woman claims Horne was standing over her, and he then got up and opened the back door to let her two children outside. The woman says she stopped the kids from leaving, and that’s when Horne hit her on the head with a stick and ran away.
Police say the woman had a gash on her forehead. Officers caught Horne a short time later and took him to the Colquitt County Jail.
