GWINNETT COUNTY, GA -- A Gwinnett County jury has sentenced an HIV-positive man to life plus 10 years in prison for raping a woman at a Lawrenceville psychiatric hospital in September 2007.

Jurors convicted 28-year-old Wesley Randall Hatfield late Wednesday on charges of rape and reckless conduct, reported the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Prosecutors said Hatfield sneaked into the room of a female patient at the SummitRidge Center for Psychiatry & Addiction Medicine, and raped her while she was asleep and on sedatives.  Records show that Hatfield also was a patient at SummitRidge when he raped the woman.
