Albany State University graduate students, the Dougherty County Jail, and other county government agencies are teaming up for a new study
ALBANY, GA. -- Albany State University graduate students, the Dougherty County Jail, and other county government agencies are teaming up for a new study.
Officials announced Tuesday that a group of Albany State students will research the effects of children skipping school, and how it leads to criminal activity down the road. Six grad students are currently conducting the study.
Col. John Ostrander with the Dougherty County Jail says students will use the jail as their laboratory. “It's a wealth of information that can be mined to determine some of the cause and effect patterns that are ongoing in the community,” says Ostrander.
The grad students will also work with students and parents at Turner Elementary to gather research.
