Electronic giants have emailed Albany officials interested in the former Circuit City building
Best Buy may come to Albany in 2011
ALBANY, GA. -- Per an open records request by FOX 31 News city officials were able to confirm through a series of emails that Best Buy has been in talks to open a new location in the former Circuit City building on Westover Boulevard.
City Attorney Nathan Davis confirmed that interim Planning & Development Services Director Mary Teter has been the person in email communication with the potential store.
FOX 31 News has learned that MJM Architects who is working with Best Buy is the corporation talking with Albany-Dougherty Planning Officials to get information about the building. Emails include potential site plans, number of parking planning questions, and more.
Rumors cite the grand opening as early as “Black Friday” later this month, however officials are denying that. The Valdosta, Georgia Best Buy location said during a phone interview that they have Albany’s location slated to open March 1, 2011.
