ALBANY, GA -- Albany Technical College proves it’s not just humans who need habitats.

Students in the college’s Construction Academy donated several doghouses to the Flint River Habitat for Humanity today.

The canine quarters will be raffled off for $5.00 a ticket or $20.00 for five tickets.

Officials with Flint River Habitat say the donation comes just in time for the holidays when many families welcome four-legged additions to the family.

"We say every family deserves a home of their own," said Stacey Driggers of Flint River Habitat for Humanity. "Well, every puppy deserves a safe place out of the weather as well. It kind of goes hand-in-hand with what we do building houses for people."

Materials for the doghouses were donated by ProBuild.
