Deceased is 51, from Leesburg
ALBANY, GA -- Albany Police are investigating the discovery of a dead body in room 144 at the Hampton Inn next to the Albany Mall.
Police have not released the deceased’s name but they say he is 51 years-old, from Leesburg.
He checked into the hotel on Saturday.
“Employees here came to check on the person in the room, didn’t get an answer, looked through the shades, and saw a person lying on the floor,” said Phyllis Banks-Whitley.
The cause of death was later ruled to be suicide.
