With deer breeding season in full-swing, drivers have to be on alert, especially when driving at dawn and dusk
ALBANY, GA -- With deer breeding season in full-swing, drivers have to be on alert, especially when driving at dawn and dusk.
Gail Melvin was driving early Wednesday morning when something struck the side of her car. And while the accident happened quickly, dents from the front to the back of the car still remain. The only way they could identify it was a deer, was because of the hair left on the side of the car.
Melvin says she never saw the deer coming or going. “I was driving down the road in the early morning, still dark, going to work and heard this noise. It sounded like someone plowed into me, but there was no road around for a car to come from,” says Melvin.
Law enforcement officials say deer crossing accidents happen every month, but this time of year has the most collisions because of breeding season.
