ALBANY, GA. -- City Commissioners are preparing to search for a new City Manager since Al Lott will vacate the position at the end of July 2011.

Lott handed in his resignation letter on July 21, 2010.  “The primary reason for my decision to leave Albany involves the proximity to my immediate family" said Lott in his resignation letter.  He’s served as City Manager since August of 2005.

City Commissioners say it takes anywhere from three to six months to successfully complete the search and hiring process.

Mayor Willie Adams appointed Commissioners Hubbard, Howard, and Langstaff to spearhead the new search.
