ALBANY, GA -- Some folks made their way out to Veteran's Amphitheater in Albany for this year's River Jam.

A variety of local singers kicked off the day with the final round of ‘Albany Star’, a local singing competition. River Jam is put on by Albany Recreation and Parks.

Organizer Suzanne Davis says the fun is going to continue throughout the weekend. ”We follow from here we've got bands throughout the day and night, we have art vendors, food vendors, and tomorrow we have Sunday Praise Spectacular,” says Davis.

Organizers look forward to hosting the River Jam again next year. The Recreation and Parks Department also used to event to collect new or gently used blankets, quilts and sleeping bags for the needy.
