The Georgia Forestry Commission reminds the public to apply for burn permits

ALBANY GA -- It’s that time of year and the Georgia Forestry Commission wants to remind everyone to apply for a permit before burning anything on their property.

Forestry officials say they take a lot of factors into consideration like the wind and humidity before granting a burn permit.

Officials want to make sure the weather conditions are appropriate for burning leaf piles so it doesn’t become a fire emergency.

If you need a burn permit call 1-877-652-2876
