ALBANY, GA -- Some women made their way to Phoebe Putney’s HealthWorks Saturday for a free health conference.

Screenings available included Cholesterol, Diabetes, Blood Pressure and BMI. Booths were also set up so women could receive more information on various issues.

Organizer Darrell Sabbs says it’s important to host a women’s health conference. “Women give so much attention to others that they take very little time to take care of themselves. So today is a day we say thank you, where we recognize your courage and wisdom that you bring, but we want you to look at your own health,” says Sabbs.

Other organizations including American Cancer SocietyAmerican Heart Association, and Georgia Department of Community Health also took part in the conference.
