Officials at Dougherty Comprehensive High School say they want to do more outreach with parents and the community
ALBANY, GA -- Officials at Dougherty Comprehensive High School say they want to do more outreach with parents and the community.
They hosted a community breakfast Tuesday to catch everyone up with what's going-on at the school.
Officials say sometimes they get a bad rap, but there are a lot of positive things taking place at the school.
“Sometimes the school and the community get misinformation so this was our opportunity to bring the parent in and community leaders in so that we can do an informal session to let them know exactly where we are in terms of a-y-p and other critical issues that affect our students,” said Principal Horace Reid.
Dougherty High is also encouraging, not only parents, but other adults to volunteer time mentoring students.
