Within hours, gas prices in Dougherty County rise above the state's average
ALBANY, GA -- If you filled up your car this week, you probably noticed a big spike at the pump.
GeorgiaGasPrices.com reports Georgia prices rose about seven cents per gallon in one week. It says the state’s average is $2.66 per gallon. Some patrons say they won’t complain -- the gas prices could be $4 per gallon like they were when Hurricane Katrina hit.
“I hate to pay $2.70 a gallon but I don’t think there should be a whole lot of griping going on right now. Everybody should be thankful they’re not higher than they are,” says Brett Freeman, a consumer.
When Fox 31 went out to gas stations on Monday, prices rose to $2.76 within hours.
