While setting up a campaign headquarters in Albany, Insurance Commissioner and State Senator Ralph Hudgens talked politics
ALBANY, GA -- A Georgia State Senator is setting up shop in Albany to help his campaign to become the state’s Insurance Commissioner. He also hammered out details on projects he wants to work on, specifically with free enterprise and health care.
State Senator Ralph Hudgens (R-District 47) has a new headquarters at 1148 Dawson Road. He says the location will help him to connect with Southwest Georgians.
“It’s important to reach voters all over Southwest Georgia, all over Georgia. You know Georgia is the largest state east of the Mississippi River and you’ve got to have people to help. You can’t do it by yourself or you’ll be whistling Dixie,” says Hudgens.
Hudgens says one of his goals if elected will be to bring back free enterprise and rely less on the government. He says he compares the interaction between businesses and the government to a football game: the government is there to call the foul balls.
Hudgens is also running against Democratic Candidate Mary Squires. John Oxendine is the current Insurance Commissioner.
