The van has an intended capacity of 15 passengers
BLAKELY, GA. -- Authorities in southwest Georgia now say a total of 19 people were in a church van that overturned after blowing a tire, killing four people.
Georgia State Patrol Trooper Charles Hall tells WALB-TV in Albany that 15 others were injured in the Sunday crash on a highway south of Blakely.
Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright says the van, which was heading to Florida, hit the median and flipped several times, ejecting some of the passengers.
Wright says the 1987 Dodge Ram Wagon van, with an intended capacity of 15 passengers, was from the Tabernacle of Prayer and Deliverance in Columbus, Ga.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
