Pro-Life supporters line Ledo Road to pray for pregnant women

ALBANY GA -- Sunday October 3, 2010 is National Life Chain Day where pro-life supporters stand alongside busy roads and pray for America’s pregnant women not to have abortions.

Local pro-life advocates stood alongside Ledo Road from Grand Island Golf Course to Wal-Mart Sunday afternoon with signs that read “Abortion kills children” and “Adoption the loving option”.

Nearly 40 people from various churches in Albany and Lee Counties say they don’t hold their signs for shock value – its an awareness campaign.  Local Life Chain organizer Debby Sapp says the want to let pregnant women know there are many organizations, nonprofits, and churches willing to help them.  “We all love Jesus Christ and we love the preborn and we love the women who are hurting.  There are a lot of women out there who feel like there is nobody who will stand next to them in their darkest hour and we want them to know that somebody loves them.  We will stand with them and we will help them” says Sapp.

The group advocates adoption and organizers say the Life Chain event has taken place worldwide on the first Sunday in October for the past 23 years.
