DOUGLASVILLE, GA -- Opponents of a pit bull ban in Douglasville showed up in greater numbers than supporters of the ban at Thursday night's city council meeting, reported WAGA FOX 5 in Atlanta.

The city council is considering a proposal to ban residents from acquiring any new pit bulls and put restrictions on current pit bull owners. Under the ordinance, owners could keep their dogs as long as they register them and keep them muzzled in public, reported the AJC.
