ALBANY, GA -- One day after his conviction for murder, a Tifton man is sentenced to life in prison.

21-year-old Joshua Woods was charged in the shooting death of 65-year-old Russell Richardson in 2008.

Tift County Superior Court Judge Melanie Cross gave Woods the chance to speak before sentencing but he declined.

The victim's family also decided not to address the court.

Woods will not be eligible for parole until he has served at least 30 years.
