LEESBURG, GA -- After months of debate, Lee County Commissioners passed amendments to the sign ordinance. At Tuesday’s meeting, commissioners passed changes including those dealing with sale signs and flags.

The board in a three-to-one vote decided temporary sale signs can only be up for 14 days and must be removed in three. Temporary signs will require a permit and a fee that won’t exceed ten dollars.

Regarding flags, commissioners unanimously decided businesses can only display one commercial flag. Residential areas are not limited to how many commercial flags they may have. Commissioners say there will be no restrictions on American and state flags.
