ALBANY, GA -- About 1,000 Southwest Georgia fifth graders are visiting the Flint RiverQuarium this week.
Students from Dougherty and surrounding counties are getting lessons on saving water at the 2010 Water Festival. About 300 students are visiting the RiverQuarium each day through Wednesday to learn about a variety of water topics.
Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful Executive Director Judy Bowles says it’s never too early to teach kids about the environment. “I don’t think we can teach them too young that we need to not pollute our water and that we need to conserve it. You and I pollute water not realizing that we do it,” says Bowles.
Officials also incorporated games and trivia, to make learning about water fun.
