More than 300 people participate in Play Day at Tift Park

ALBANY GA -- Saturday was National Play Day and more than 300 adults and children participated in the event at Tift Park.

Parks and RecreationYouth Becoming HealthyThe Home Depot, and the Albany Fire Department came together to sponsor the local play day.

Attendees played games, participated in races, hula hooping competitions, and built small wooden items at a construction zone.

Albany Director of Recreation and Parks Suzanne Davis says its important for everyone to get off of the couch and get active. “There is a high rate of obesity and diabetes throughout the country and its especially important in South Georgia to remember that we all need to be healthy.  If we want to live as long as we possibly can, we need to get active” says Davis.
