The Alzheimer’s Association held its annual Memory Walk in Albany Friday morning

ALBANY, GA -- The Alzheimer’s Association held its annual Memory Walk in Albany Friday morning. FOX 31 News is one of many organizations that took part in the 2010 memory walk.

A group of Merry Acres Middle School students decided to support the cause by making and selling books. The book contained 60 pages of pictures, recipes, and memories of the kids.

While walking was a fun way to volunteer for some, for others it was a serious day. Walker and special speaker Pamela Bryant’s mother passed away from Alzheimer’s complications. “It’s an unbelievable disease. The notion of your mother not remembering who you are is awesome to me. I don't know how else to honor her except to get committed to finding a cure,” says Bryant.

Over 200 walkers took part in this year’s event.
