PLAINS, GA -- Hundreds of people made their way out to Plains Friday for a ceremony at President Jimmy Carters Boyhood farm.

Kids and adults traveled from all around to see the former president place his hands in the new cement walkway at the park. Officials say the new walkway is one of many improvements underway.

President Carter says he’s exciting to share everything going on at the farm with residents and visitors. “I moved out here and it’s still just like home to me. And I think all the tens of thousands of visitors that come here from all over the world to see how life was on a Georgia farm,” says Carter.

Those attending the ceremony have another chance to see President Carter at the Plains Peanut Festival.
