An ex-assistant principal who was sentenced to 22 years in prison after pleading guilty to shooting his estranged wife six times and later had his conviction reversed has been sentenced to 35 years in prison.
ATLANTA (AP) -- The Georgia Supreme Court in January 2009 reversed the conviction of Rodney Denson, concluding in a unanimous opinion that there was a flaw in Denton’s court transcript.
He faced a new trial in connection with the 2005 shooting of his wife Elletta Bailey as her three children were getting ready for school at their home in Fairburn.
A jury sentenced Denson, 43, on multiple felony counts Thursday.
Prosecutors had argued he shot his estranged wife, and later his mistress, after fearing his affair would be exposed publicly.
