The Dougherty County Finance Committee reports they have to cut back on spending

ALBANY, GA -- Dougherty County Administrator Richard Crowdis notified the Dougherty County Finance Committee they have to cut back on spending.

The Special Project Local Optional Sales Tax or “SPLOST” 5 budget is projected to have a $1.8 million dollar shortfall.

County officials say the main reason for the financial shortcoming because the sales tax collection estimate is significantly less than originally planned.
