The Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission met Wednesday to talk about future plans for the area
President Ted Clem says a subcommittee was formed to review the goals
ALBANY, GA -- The Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission met Wednesday to talk about future plans for the area. The main item on the agenda was the discussion of incentive compensation goals.
The list of goals covers areas of growth the commission would like to see happen. The seven goals include creating 500 new jobs, manage the construction of Albany-Dougherty Industrial park, and provide documented assistance to 30 existing industries.
EDC President Ted Clem says overall the commission agreed on the goals; however a subcommittee was created to work out some issues. “Each goal is given a priority based on a weighted score, how we perform towards those goals. And that’s part of what the subcommittee will be deciding is what those weights will be and how those are prioritized,” says Clem.
Officials say they are also working on a few other things to bring more attention to Albany.
