The hospital has a new landing pad for emergency helicopter

ALBANY, GA -- An emergency helicopter made its first stop at its newest destination. The Air Evac flight team parked at the hospitals new landing zone to show local emergency medical services personnel safety precautions and operations for loading and unloading patients.

Anytime a patient had to be flown from the hospital to another destination, they had to first be transported to the airport. Emergency Center Manager Todd Brasswell says having access to an Air Evac landing pad is an invaluable resource when it comes to saving lives. "What a flight team brings to a patient is obviously shorter transport time, but they also have highly trained crews that can do advanced procedures while in route," says Brasswell.

The new helo-pad is located in the field behind Phoebe HealthWorks.
