LEE COUNTY, GA. -- A new bank branch is making its way to Lee County. A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday for Heritage Bank. Construction is set to begin next month on the new branch location, which is adjacent to Publix. LRA Construction and several local subcontractors will collaborate on the project.

Heritage Bank’s Mary Beth Hobby says this isn't their first Lee County location. “We had a branch down the road about 7 miles at Robert B. Lee, at the intersection right there. And we noticed how the growth in this county is coming this direction, so we wanted to be in the area where the growth is happening,” says Hobby.

Officials say this branch will give the bank greater presence in Lee County. The 10,000 square foot building is set to open in April.
