Albany’s federal representative reported that Congressman Sanford Bishop has added two items for South Georgia to the House Appropriation Bill.

ALBANY, GA. -- Albany’s Federal Representative Marion Turner says that Congressman Sanford Bishop has secured two items in the House Appropriation Bill for South Georgia.

Albany is slated to receive $1 million dollars for the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport and $700,000 for the Holloway Mercer Project.

Moving forward Turner says his work is not over.  “We would love to try and either plus up either of those two numbers or perhaps secure funding for one of the other five initiatives that are on the city’s federal agenda” says Turner.

The $1.7 million dollars in projects is expected to be secured in legislation by the end of the year.
