JESUP, GA (AP) --
Bobby Rex Stribling, 49, faces the death penalty if convicted of killing 74-year-old Glenn Thomas, who was beaten at his law office in downtown Jesup in June 2007.
Thomas died two weeks later from severe head injuries he suffered during the attack.
Stribling has pleaded not guilty to malice murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault with intent to rob, aggravated battery, burglary and theft by taking.
The jury is being imported from Coffee County residents, which is about 60 miles west of Jesup, because of the pretrial publicity. Opening arguments are scheduled to begin Aug. 23.
