ALBANY, GA -- Four Southwest Georgia organizations received grants to promote healthy lifestyles. Emory Prevention Research Center is awarding a total of $32,000 in grants to the Tift County School SystemThomasville Community Resource CenterOakridge Baptist Church, and the Network of Trust School System. Each $8,000 mini-grant will be used to improve nutrition, physical activity, and tobacco use prevention.

Emory University’s Johanna Hinman says these grants give the community more support. “We are so excited to have a broader network of community based organizations who are really the ones who can help make a difference in local people's lives,” says Hinman

The grants are meant to cover expenses over the next two years. This is the third time the grants have been awarded to Southwest Georgia organizations.
