ALBANY, GA -- A mobile eye clinic that travels all over the country has made its way to Albany. VSP Vision Care, the Georgia Optometric Association, and the Samaritan Clinic joined forces to bring the eye clinic bus to Southwest Georgia. Free eye exams are given to uninsured and underinsured residents.

Mobile Clinic Manager Kim Rankin says everyone should receive eye exams because they can reveal many diseases. “Diabetes, Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, Hypertension. And it’s important that people have the health of their eyes checked annually,” says Rankin.

All the mobile clinic exam slots are filled, however officials say residents can always look to the Samaritan Clinic for assistance. You can reach the clinic at 229-888-7420.
