LEESBURG, GA -- Lee County commissioners met Tuesday night to consider several proposals. One big item on the list was construction bids for the Library and Conference Center. Commissioners say a new estimate was brought forward that was millions of dollars more than the original bid.

Commission Chairman Ed Duffy says the new bid is way over budget. “The Board of Commissioners going to have to meet and decide which other, which way we're going to go. We might have to rebid it; we may have to cut down the size. But we're going to have to do something because we can't turn that $2 million back to the state of Georgia,” says Duffy

Commissioners also considered approval for the design of the Westover Road Extension and a resolution to extend the sign permits.
