Two Southwest Georgia men are accused of selling fake crack cocaine.
Undercover drug agents say they busted 30-year-old Jontavian Blount of Thomasville and 29-year-old Lamar Edwards of Cairo as they were getting ready to sell some fake crack in Thomas County. Officers reportedly found almost two ounces of the fake coke in the engine compartment of a car driven by Blount and Edwards. Both men face two felony drug charges; possession of a non-controlled substance represented as a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of a non-controlled substance represented as a controlled substance with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a housing project.
Drug agents say the fake crack, had it been real crack cocaine, would have been worth $1,200 to $1,500 on the street.
