ALBANY, GA. -- The Dougherty County School System held open houses to kick off the 2010 school year.

Every school welcomed students and their parents to come meet their teachers and ask questions.

Lamar Reese Elementary assistant principal G.E. Graham says there is a lot to be excited about this year.

“We have a new superintendent. We have weathered some storms that we went through last year concerning assessments and our leadership team from the top all the way down to our facilities and child nutrition services are involved and committed to making this one of our best years,” said Graham.

Classes begin Monday morning.
