ALBANY, GA -- People were lined up at Radium Springs Middle School Friday waiting for ‘National Night Out’  festivities to begin. This is the third year the Dougherty County Police Department has teamed up with other agencies for the event. School supplies, food, and games were available for everyone attending. DCPD Assistant Chief Jackie Battle says it's important for the community to see there are two sides to every officer. “A lot of times people see law enforcement and other agencies in a negative light and we like to do something that's positive to the community. But we also want to bring everyone together. And that's what national night is about, bringing the community together” says Battle. Officials say the event wouldn't be possible without the support and donations from local businesses.
