ALBANY, GA -- Lee County Commissioners kept Tuesday evening's meeting short and sweet. While it only lasted about 15 minutes long, commissioners managed to approve two proposals. Commissioners approved a new hazard mitigation plan and an alcohol license for the new Publix on US Highway 19. Commission Chairman Ed Duffy says the new grocery store will be an asset to the county. “There’s 8 out-parcels associated with Publix, we're hoping that 8 new business will come to lee county to be in that Publix complex” says Duffy. Commissioners say it was important to approve the license so the store could open soon.
