ALBANY, GA -- Albany police say an 8-year-old girl was cut in the abdomen after a playful tussle was “misinterpreted” as a fight. Police responded to a reported stabbing on Crawford Drive around 9 Monday night. Officials say Shavara Gaines was playing with a group of kids when she was stuck with a knife. A 12-year-old girl, whose name has not been released, reportedly threw the knife because she thought the group was fighting. Police say the girl has been charged with aggravated assault.
