ALBANY, GA. -- A new batch of officers got their badges Tuesday.

Albany State University swore in and promoted eight officers to their police force.

Jermaine Foster is now a security officer. He says it's great stepping stone to getting where he wants to be.

“It means the world to me this is what I went to school for. This is what I am certified in. In all different areas even with the department of homeland security,” said foster.

Foster is also taking classes at Albany State University toward a forensic science degree.
