ALBANY, GA. -- A group of volunteers is in town to help out some Albany organizations.

The three volunteers from AmeriCorps vista came to the United Way.

The will be assigned to help three Albany non-profits.

One of those organizations is The Anchorage, a men's alcohol and drug treatment center. They have a small staff so getting an extra body helps a lot.

“We treat 55 guys at the same time at anchorage at a residential treatment setting. And we have a very small staff at four full-time and one part-time so it is great if we can get some volunteers our help in some way,” said Kenny Phillips, director of The Anchorage.

The volunteers will be in Albany for a year and will also help two other non-profits; The Network of Trust and Strive to Thrive.
