MADRID (AP) -- A Spanish official says at least 12 people have been killed and 13 injured when they were run over by a train in a town near Barcelona.
The official with the Catalonia regional government says a long-distance train passing through the station in Castelldefels late Tuesday hit a group of people crossing the tracks.
The official says the commuters had just gotten off of a commuter train and crossed over the tracks above ground rather than using a designated tunnel underneath.
