(AP) -- CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (AP) - A police chase across north Georgia that began as a traffic stop ended at a Waffle House in Bartow County when the suspect threw a gun out of the window of his car.
Police told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution the suspect was apprehended after the 10 minute chase that involved at least two dozen patrol cars in northwest Georgia.
Police said the chase apparently began after a traffic stop in Polk County when the suspect apparently shot at Polk County officers. A man suspected of being in a stolen car was taken into custody when the chase ended at a Waffle House in Bartow County. The suspect's name has not been released.
The chase involved officers from Floyd, Polk and Bartow counties, as well as the Georgia State Patrol.
